Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it under consideration by another journal. If related work has been submitted or published elsewhere, an explanation has been provided in the cover letter.
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice or Microsoft Word document file format.
  • Where available, DOIs and/or URLs have been provided for all references.
  • The text is double-spaced; uses a 12-point font; Times New Roman; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses).
  • All figures and tables are prepared and labeled according to the latest APA style guidelines, placed at the end of the manuscript, and clearly indicated in the text where each figure and/or table should appear.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines (https://wskwellness.github.io/jkw-guide/submission-guidelines/).
  • I am submitting three separate files: (1) a cover letter, (2) a title page with author information, and (3) the anonymized manuscript file prepared for peer review.
  • If the study involved human subjects, I included the protocol number* in the cover letter. In addition to incorporate the following details within the manuscript itself:
    1. IRB Approval Statement: Explain that your research project has received approval from an IRB. This declaration is crucial for upholding research ethics and integrity.
    2. Consent for Adult Subjects: If your study involves adult subjects, include a statement confirming that informed consent was obtained from all participants.
    3. Consent and Assent for Child Subjects: In studies involving children, it is necessary to affirm that consent was obtained from parents or guardians, and assent was acquired from the children.

    *The IRB research protocol can be requested from the IRB from your institution.

  • Brief manuscript title or topic
  • ORCID (register for free here: https://orcid.org/signin)

Once your request is approved, the Journal Manager will create an account for you and send login instructions. You will then be able to access the submission system and track your manuscript through peer review.
